The new electric SUVs

2024 unveils a series of innovative vehicles ready to redefine standards of performance, autonomy and design. Automakers vie with each other in ingenuity to offer avant-garde models that will mark the year.

In this exploration of the next generation of electric SUVs, we plunge into a world of technological sophistication and ecological performance, where four wheels are synonymous with innovation and daring.

Alfa Romeo B-SUV

The Alfa Romeo B-SUV could make its official debut next spring, signalling the automaker's arrival in the electric SUV sector. electric SUV. That's right, Alfa Romeo is aiming for full electrification by 2027but does not yet have an electric model. This is where this new model comes in. Indeed, Alfa Romeo is becoming increasingly active in its foray into the city crossover segment. Scheduled for 2024, this new model is provisionally called the Alfa Romeo B-SUV as part of Project 966.

Based closely on the Fiat 600e and Jeep Avengerthis new electric SUV will combine the following features:

  • 115 kW motor,
  • around 400 km range according to the WLTP cycle,
  • torque of 260 Nm.

Unfortunately, surprising leaked images of the Alfa Romeo B-SUV have recently emerged online. Rumor has it that a designer involved in the project accidentally shared the photos.

Although their authenticity has yet to be verified, the front design seems reminiscent of an earlier glimpse seen during the Alfa Romeo CEO's visit to the Tychy plant in Poland, where this vehicle will be designed.

The name of this forthcoming model has yet to be confirmed. Reportedly, it could be called "the Brennero". To be continued.

While we wait for more information about this electric Alpha Romeo, our article on electric SUV trends of 2023 may be of interest to you.

DS 8

DS confirms the launch of a new electric car in 2024, manufactured at the Stellantis plant in Melfi, Italy. Envisaged as a more luxurious version of the DS 7, it could be could be called the DS 8. The vehicle will be based on the recent STLA Medium modular platform, already used for the Peugeot e-3008.

The electric car in question turns out to be the SUV codenamed "D85", an evolution of the ASL (Aero Sport Lounge) concept car from 2020. What's more, its elevated station wagon configuration will combine the height prized by SUVs with optimal aerodynamics thanks to its measured roof height, thus favoring autonomy.

Here are just a few of the features we've managed to unearth for you:

  • 98 kWh battery,
  • 700 km range,
  • ASL silhouette (approx. 4.8 metres long)
  • 230 hp engine, similar to that of the Peugeot e-3008 Grande Autonomie.

The DS 8 is due to be unveiled at the end of 2024, and go on sale in early 2025.

Skoda Elroq

Positioned as a zero-emission alternative to the Karoq, this all-electric model from Skoda will coexist with the latter before replacing it, despite the excellent sales performance of the internal combustion version. The Elroq, based on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform like theEnyaqplatform, will be the pioneer among the three electric models announced by Skoda between 2024 and 2026.

Measuring around 4.5 metres in lengththe Elroq will be positioned between the Peugeot e-2008 and the Kia Niro EV on the market. However, we have no further information to provide at this time, although we do know that its release is scheduled for October 2024 and that it will be produced in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic..

What's more, we can imagine that the Elroq, a mix of "Karoq" and "electric", will take on some of the technical elements of the Volkswagen ID.3including 58 and 77 kWh batteries.

The new electric city cars

In the near future, urban streets are set to welcome a quiet but revolutionary wave of change. The new electric city cars of 2024 are the pioneers of an era in which urban mobility goes hand in hand with energy efficiency.

Discover the technological gems that will redefine the inner-city automotive landscape in 2024.

Citroën ë-C3

Reservations for the future ë-C3 from Citroën began. Originally scheduled to run until December 17, they have now been extended to January 31, 2024, underlining the popularity of this new electric city car. The brand is already celebrating 10,000 reservations for its electric car.

In addition, the electric Citroën ë-C3 will be offered as part of the social leasing program in 2024. While a monthly cost of 100 euros was expected, the good news is that in the end it will be just 54 euros per month!

Indeed, the monthly cost of this ë-C3 will be 54 euros within the framework of a social leasing where several conditions must be met:

  • households with a tax income per unit of less than €15,400,
  • be domiciled in France,
  • be more than 15 kilometers from the workplace,
  • drive more than 8,000 kilometers a year for professional reasons,

The next Spring differs considerably from its current version, and here's the information we have.

Initially, it will feature a digital dashboard, a large screen and a suspended center console similar to the MG4thus adopting modern standards. Despite this, materials could remain basic to cut costs, and technical evolutions of the Dacia Spring will be limited. Thus, it will maintain :

  • two versions (45 or 65 hp),
  • and a 26.8 kWh battery.

Dacia may review chassis settings and tire quality, current problem areas, on occasion, although this remains uncertain. The verdict will be given in spring 2024. However, it's worth remembering that this city car is no longer no longer eligible for the ecological bonus 2024which could hinder its success against the Citroën ë-C3.

The Italian manufacturer has unveiled new information about the new electric Fiat planned for 2024. In fact, Fiat aims to offer a versatile car measuring around 4 meters, 30 cm longer than the current internal combustion Panda.

The electric city car will adopt a five-door configuration and incorporate SUV elements to keep up with current trends. Technical technical similarities with the future Citroën ë-C3.

On the French market, it will initially be initially offered in an all-electric version. While some markets will offer a version with at least one internal combustion engine, this is not likely to be the case in France initially, given the brand's rapid move to electric power in the country.

Nevertheless, the brand plans to add a combustion model a few months after the launch of the electric version, to offer a more affordable entry-level model at around €20,000. As a result, Fiat is aiming to offer the "Panda e" as an entry-level model, under €25,000 without the bonus, thanks to its small engines.
