Electric cars: the latest figures for 2024
According to figures published by Avere-France, the number of registrations of electrified vehicles rose by 25,7 % compared with 2023, i.e. more than 28,000 electric cars added to the market in February 2024. As a result, France now has a total of 1,068,323 electric cars.
Despite the disruption caused by the new ecological bonus announced by the government on February 13, the trend remains positive for sustainable mobility.
As a reminder, the conditions for benefiting from the ecological bonus remain unchanged:
- The maximum price for the electric car is €47,000 including VAT, excluding options,
- Weight must not exceed 2.4 tonnes,
- It must be an electrically or hydrogen-powered vehicle with zero CO2 emissions.
As for the amount of government assistance :
- It is capped at 27% of the purchase price.
- For individuals with a reference tax income per unit of more than €15,400 / year, assistance amounts to 4,000 INCL. TAX.
- For those with an income below this threshold, assistance amounts to 7,000 INCL. VAT.
However, it is important to remember that professionals and used vehicles over 2 years old do not benefit fromany government assistance.
