Top 5: which electric sports car to choose?

Tesla Model 3

Electric sports cars are becoming more and more widespread, seducing drivers with more than just engine noise. In fact, technological advances are enabling electric sports car manufacturers to exploit the full potential of electric motors in terms of performance andrange, making electric sports cars rival combustion engines in this market.

What we generally expect from a sports car are sensations, acceleration and, of course, speed. The electric car perfectly meets these criteria. In fact, with a single-speed gearbox, the maximum torque is much more immediate than with internal combustion models, making for more efficient starting.

What's more, the electric motor and regenerative braking make electric sports cars more economical and cleaner. In the current context, these last points are the most important. Indeed, they guarantee the continuity of sports cars in the automotive market. The issue of CO2 emissions is becoming increasingly important, and the tightening of the ecological penalty is drastically increasing the cost of a combustion-powered sports car. Indeed, it could reach up to 20,000 euros on May 1, 2020 for a 213 g/km vehicle.
