Positioned in the compact van segment, Peugeot is extending its offering within the Expert range with the addition of a model featuring a 100% electric powertrain.
The Peugeot e-Expert is a totally versatile utility vehicle that adapts to your needs. It offers up to two levels ofrange, up to 330 km in WLTP cycle, and three different lengths.
Recently upgraded to Euro6 standards, with a range ofvans adapted to the specific needs of professionals, the Peugeot Expert is now available in an electric version, becoming the Peugeot e Expert, allowing electric vans access to city centers, unlike combustion-powered vans, which cannot move freely in low-emission zones.
Peugeot e-Expert test drive: How much range does it have?
Peugeot' s second electric utility vehicle after the e Partner, the Peugeot e-Expert is the 1st Peugeot electric vehicle to offer a dual range.
Based on the observation that nearly 80% of commercial vehicle drivers cover an average of less than 200 km a day, Peugeot has developed the Peugeot e Expert to meet the needs of professionals on the move.
Depending on your needs, theutility is available in two versions:
- The first 50 kWh battery delivers up to 230 km of WLTP range.
- A second 75 kWh battery capable of reaching 330 km on a single charge
The Compact, Standard and Long versions are available with the 50 kWh battery. However, only the Standard and Long versions can accommodate the 75 kWh battery.
Test Peugeot e-Expert : Performance
Based on the EMP2 modular multi-energy platform (Efficient Modular Platform), the Peugeot e Expert is powered by a 100% electric motor with 100 kW (136 hp) and a maximum torque of 260 Nm, providing unrivalled responsiveness on start-up.
In terms of design, the e Expert is identical to the new Peugeot e-208 and the e-2008 SUV. In fact, it has the same engine characteristics, while remaining suitable for the heavy loads usually experienced by an SUV.
With the Peugeot e Expert, you can reach a top speed of 130 km/h and 100 km/h in just 13.1 seconds.
The Peugeot e-Expert offers 3 driving modes via the mode selector:
- Eco: promoting autonomy
- Normal: optimal for daily use
- Power: optimizes performance when transporting heavy loads
This utility vehicle is also equipped with two braking modes, allowing the regeneration of adapted batteries:
- Moderate: offering sensations close to those of a combustion-powered vehicle
- Increased: for enhanced deceleration when the accelerator pedal is released
Peugeot e-Expert test drive: How to recharge?
The Peugeot e Expert is equipped with battery regulation for rapid charging, optimized autonomy and longer life.
Two types of on-board chargers are available, to suit all uses. A 7.4 kW single-phase charger comes as standard, and an 11 kW three-phase charger is available as an option.
On a standard household outlet (8A), a full charge from 0% to 100% will take 31 hours for the 50 kWh model and 47 hours for the 75 kWh model.
The charging hatch is located on the front left wing of thevan, and can also be used for rapid recharging. In fact, the Peugeot e Expert tolerates up to 100 kW of maximum power using a Combo CCS socket, enabling it to be charged in just 18 minutes from 20% to 80% on the 50 kWh model, and in 35 minutes for the 75 kWh model.
Peugeot has also introduced deferred charging, which can be programmed from the vehicle's on-board navigation screen or from your smartphone using the MyPeugeot application. In addition to being able to start your charge remotely at any time, this application also allows you to check the charge status of your Peugeot van.
Peugeot e-Expert Test Drive: Dimensions & Load Volume
Available in three different lengths: Compact (4609 mm), Standard (4959 mm), Long (5306 mm). The Peugeot e Expert has a towing capacity of 1000 kg and a payload of up to 1275 kg, depending on length.
In terms of load volume, thevan is identical to its internal combustion version. Its useful volume is up to 6.1 m3, which can perfectly accommodate 3 Euro-pallets. In fact, the various e-Expert finishes offer a load volume of :
- Compact: 4.6 m3
- Standard: 5.3 m3
- Long: 6.1 m3
Theutility vehicle 's underfloor battery has no impact on load volume.
To ensure versatility on the road, the Peugeot e Expert features power steering adapted to the needs of professionals, facilitating driving pleasure, and a turning diameter of 11.3 m. To ensure access to most parking areas, the e Expert has a maximum height of 1.90 m, depending on the finish.
The Peugeot e Expert is also equipped with the Moduwok 3-seater bench seat, enabling you to optimize your journeys by transporting your employees and their tools from one place to another.

Marketing of the e-Expert is scheduled for late 2020, with prices as yet unknown.
The Peugeot e-Expert will be available in a PRO and PREMIUM finish, as well as in ready-to-use versions:
