À propos de la marque smart

Le projet smart nait en 1990 d'une idée simple : créer une voiture de ville simple et épurée. Il est porté, à cette époque, par Nicolas Hayek qui est alors président de Swatch, la société suisse de fabrication de montres. En 1991, Volkswagen s'intéresse au projet mais se retire du fait de la crise. C'est Mercedes-Benz qui décide alors de reprendre les rennes ayant déjà travaillé sur un concept similaire en interne. Elle sera ensuite redesignée en 2014 pour laisser sa place à la smart Forfour II, conçue sur la base de la Twingo III. smart devient ainsi une référence en terme de mini-voitures citadines. Aujourd'hui, smart innove en ne proposant plus que des modèles 100% électriques: la smart EQ Fortwo et la smart EQ Forfour.
