Citroën Oli, reinventing the electric car
In the video published on Citroën's Twitter account, we learn all the details about this electric car. electric carafter a message about excessive plastic consumption. The Citroën Oli is designed to be much more environmentally friendly. Indeed, electric cars are already much more environmentally responsible than combustion-powered cars. For Citroën, however, this is not enough. They wanted to reinvent the electric car by making it as lightweight as possibleso that it consumes less fuel.
This is why the roof and hood are made from honeycomb cardboard. And no, this doesn't pose any safety problems! Honeycomb cardboard is stronger than metal, so it's not only impact-resistant, but also rainproof, so you won't find any holes in your car's roof after a storm. This cardboard lined with two thin layers of plastic makes the roof and bonnet more resistant than metal.. Enough to turn your roof into a dance floor, according to Citroën.
Let's continue with the challenge of being as light as possible, with seats designed in just three pieces. The result is lightness and impeccable comfort.
Citroën Oli, eco-friendly car first and foremost
With the Citroën Oli, we want to be even more eco-friendly. Every part of this electric SUV is made from recycled and recyclable materials, so they can be used over and over again. What's more, Citroën promises that every part can be repaired and replaced as many times as necessary. So, yes, the life expectancy of this car will be long.
The icing on the cake is that the Citroën Oli is designed to be accessible to all. Citroën CEO Vincent Cobée has announced a price tag of €25,000, thanks to the car's lightweight, low-cost materials. It remains to be seen whether this price will remain the same on the day of release. However, with this price, we can expect Citroën to convert many people to electric cars. What's more, it will offer a range of 400 km!
As for recharging, it is estimated that it will take just 20 minutes to go from 20% to 80%. This SUV will be equipped with a 40 kWh battery. Citroën has limited this electric car to 110 km/h in order to keep in line with the concept of a low-consumption family car.

The Citroën Oli, a blend of minimalism and technology
Simple materials, simple appearance. Although the car has a very cubic exterior design, far from the cars we see every day, it nevertheless remains very minimalist. First of all, looking at the exterior, you'd think it was just a three-door. But it's really a five-door. These are antagonistic doors. In other words, the rear door opens in the opposite direction to the front, which opens forward. There's also a trunk door.
Inside, we find the bare essentials. Four seats, a steering wheel and a few buttons for the air conditioning. There's also a phone slot, so you can connect it directly to the car and recharge it at the same time.
As far as listening to audio content is concerned, the vehicle has no built-in radio or speakers. The Citroën Oli has two slots in which you can place your speakers. We still don't know if speakers are supplied with the vehicle.
Have you noticed the 90-degree windscreen and the sloping windows? This allows the vehicle to repel UV rays, helping to regulate the temperature and limit the use of air conditioning, which could reduce your range.
New car, new logo
In presenting this new electric car, Citroën is also showing off its new logo. A tenth change of logo and a return to the origins, since the logo bears a strong resemblance to the one designed by André Citroën in 1919when the brand was created. The logo is, however, designed in a more modern style, in red and black. A number of hypotheses have emerged. Could it be that Citroën wants to rebrand itself, or could it be that the automaker wants to hark back to its pioneering days, this time with electric vehicles?
