Lidl is planning to open this charging station end of November 2022in one of its supermarkets in Villefranche-sur-Saône (Rhône), around thirty kilometers from Lyon. To ensure that every motorist can take full advantage of the charging stations, they will be open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. "It's one of the most powerful off-motorway charging hubs in the southeast, open to all."according to Lidl management.
In addition, to give priority to renewable resources, this charging station is powered in the same way as the Fastned station. Fastnedthanks to photovoltaic panelsinstalled on the roof. On this new charging station hub, 13 parking spaces will be reserved for drivers of electric cars where accelerated, fast and ultra-fast charging points will be available.

What about charging rates for electric cars?
According to the latest news, rates for recharging your electric vehicle are calculated per kWh used. Here are the rates:
- on the 4 charging points of 22 kW 0.25 €/kW
- on the 8 180 kW charging points 0.40 €/kWh
- on the 360 kW charge point 0.40 €/kWh
We can see straight away that what Lidl offers are literally lower prices than those on the market. If we compare with our competitors IONITY or Tesla SuperchargersSuperchargers, charging prices are close to 0.70/kWh.
