What will Xiaomi's future electric car look like?
As previously mentioned, the company plans to invest 10 billion dollars over 10 years to complete this project.
As far as the technical specifications of the Xiaomi car are concerned, it will be an electric sedanaccording to the latest news.
In terms of performance, the electric car will have a range range of up to 440 kmwith a 55 kWhbattery . To recharge this electric vehicle, it will be possible to80% charge in 10 minthanks to the 400 V. For Premium versions, Xiaomi cars will have a power of 800 Venabling them to charge quickly and achieve a range of 1,000 kilometers, which is quite high for a first electric car. What's more, it's a good publicity stunt on Xiaomi's part, enough to make the world leader in electric cars react.
Relative to the price of the car, it will be offered at a lower price than its competitor Tesla competitor: the future car will cost 21 000 €.
It's clear that Xiaomi wants to compete with the Chinese giant in virtually every possible way.
Innovations for this Xiaomi electric car?
Lei Jun goes even further when it comes to the technology he wants to integrate into the electric car: it's the Xiaomi Pilotan autonomous driving system. This system, which has already been shown as a prototype, will operate using LiDAR technology. This system could put pressure on rival Tesla with its Autopilot. One thing is certain: Xiaomi is not hiding its ambitions.
As for the production and release of the electric car, this is scheduled for 2024.
