Assistance for electric cars in the Île-de-France region
To combat pollution in the Paris Region, the region subsidizes the purchase of electric cars and retrofits (conversion of a combustion engine car into an electric car). This helps small businesses in the region to acquire a clean vehicle.

Who can benefit from Île-de-France regional aid?
Île-de-France's 2024 regional aid for the purchase of electric cars is aimed at :
- individuals living in the greater Paris region (excluding the communes of the Greater Paris Metropolis),
- companies headquartered in the Paris region (maximum 50 employees),
- municipalities in the Paris region with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants.
What are the conditions?
The purchase price of the electric car must not exceed €47,000 incl. VAT (including options), after trade discounts and before deduction of government grants. In addition, it must be assembled in a European Union country where less than 110g of CO2 are emitted to produce 1 kWh of electricity.
What is the amount of regional aid?
The amount of assistance varies according to the beneficiary's reference tax income per unit. For individuals, the amount is :
- 2,250 for annual income over €30,508,
- 4,500 for an annual income of between €14,090 and €30,508,
- 7,500 for an annual income of between €6,359 and €14,089,
- 9,000 for annual income of €6,358 or less.
Different conditions apply to companies and local authorities:
- 1,500 for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and electric quadricycles
- 6,000 for electric cars and vans weighing less than 3.5 T.
- 9,000 for electric trucks and tractors over 3.5 T.
Professionals wishing to set up a commercial or craft activity can benefit from regional aid of €15,000, provided they have no more than 10 employees and annual sales not exceeding €2,000,000.
Note that this aid can be combined with all other public assistance, such as the bonus écologique or the prime à la conversion. However, the total amount of aid received must not exceed 50% of the price of the electric vehicle (rising to 80% for the highest levels of aid).
Retrofit assistance
The Ile-de-France region also offers assistance for converting a combustion engine vehicle into a clean one. Individuals, companies with fewer than 50 employees and municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants can benefit, provided the retrofit is carried out by an approved professional. The vehicle in question must have been owned by the beneficiary for at least one year prior to the application for assistance. The amount of assistance is :
- 500 for two- and three-wheeled motor vehicles
- 3,000 for four-wheel motor vehicles.
How do I apply for regional assistance?
Applications for Île-de-France regional assistance can only be submitted online.

Who can benefit from Greater Paris assistance?
The " Métropole Roule Propre" scheme for the purchase of electric cars is aimed at residents of the Greater Paris Metropolis who wish to acquire a less polluting vehicle. You can get up to €6,000 towards the purchase of a new electric vehicle. The aid can be combined with the ecological bonus and the conversion bonus, but you must be eligible for the government conversion bonus to benefit. Electric, hydrogen, plug-in hybrid and CNG vehicles are eligible for Métropole Roule Propre assistance.
What is the amount of regional aid?
The amount of assistance varies according to the beneficiary's reference tax income per unit. For individuals, the amount is :
- 9,000 for annual income of €6,358 or less,
- 7,500 if annual income is between €6,359 and €14,089,
- 4,500 for an annual income of between €14,090 and €30,508,
- 2,250 if annual income exceeds €30,508.
The main changes to the Greater Paris program are the lowering of the vehicle purchase price ceiling to €47,000 and the introduction of a weight criterion(less than 2.4 tonnes).
What are the eligibility criteria?
- The vehicle can be new, used, LOA or LLD
- The vehicle to be destroyed can be a passenger car, a van or a thermal two-wheeler.
- Assistance can only be requested once per household
- Deliver your old vehicle for destruction no later than 6 months after the invoice date of the purchased or leased vehicle, to an approved end-of-life vehicle processing center.

The Occitanie region's "Eco-Mobility Cheque" scheme
The Occitanie region is offering assistance for purchasers of new electric vehicles (purchase or LOA/LLD lease) ordered from July 1ᵉʳ 2023 in the Occitanie region.
The amount of assistance depends on the household's tax situation:
- 30% of the acquisition cost, capped at €1,000 if the household is taxable
- 30% of the acquisition cost, capped at €2,000 if the household is not taxable
This aid can be combined with the conversion bonus, which can save you up to €2,500 (or even €5,000 if your household is not taxable). All in all, the combined aid can save you up to €10,500.
Example: I want to buy a used electric vehicle for €15,000. I'm scrapping my 2006 diesel vehicle, I'm not taxable. The cost of my vehicle will be : 15 000 € - 2 000 € - 5 000 € = 8 000 €. That's a saving of 53%.
Please note that this assistance is only available for used vehicles purchased from a professional dealer in the Occitanie region, and whose value does not exceed €30,000 including tax.
What documents are required to qualify?
- Proof of residence in Occitanie (council tax, property tax, energy tax, etc.)
- Proof of applicant's identity
- Applicant's payment details
- Copy of applicant's income tax return
- Vehicle registration document with date of first registration (copy)
- Proof of vehicle purchase
- A completed and signed declaration of honour
What are the eligibility criteria?
To qualify for assistance, applicants must:
- must reside in the Occitanie region,
- must have a reference tax income per unit of less than or equal to €22,983 and a household reference tax income of less than or equal to €60,000,
- must not already have received assistance from the Region under the "Eco-cheque
mobilité" scheme.
To qualify, the car must meet the following conditions:
- have CO2 emissions of no more than 20 g/km,
- have been purchased or leased new (for a minimum of 36 months),
- have been ordered on or after July 1ᵉʳ, 2023,
- must replace a scrapped CRITAIR 3, CRITAIR 4, CRITAIR 5 or unclassified vehicle.
(if the old vehicle uses diesel as its main fuel, it must have been
first registration: before January 1, 2011, if the older vehicle does not use diesel as its main fuel, then it must have been have been first registered before January 1, 2006).
- have an acquisition value not exceeding 47,000 euros (all taxes included),
- be registered for the first time.

Ville de Drancy: €1,500 for the purchase of a new electric car
The town of Drancy gives all Drancans the opportunity to do without their petrol or diesel car and opt for an electric car or bike.
- 1500 € for the purchase of a new electric car
- 750 € for leasing a new electric vehicle with purchase option
What documents are required to benefit from the city of Drancy?
To qualify, all you have to do is buy a new car or bike and present the following documents to the Energy and Sustainable Development Unit of the town of Drancy:
- purchase invoice or leasing contract
- Proof of address less than 3 months old
- a tax notice
- a piece of identification
- a bank statement
All items must have the same Drancy address. Only one grant per household.

Bonus: The Arve Valley
As part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region's policy to reduce CO2 emissions, five of the region's communes are benefiting from subsidies to help them switch to electric cars. If you live in one of the following communes, you may be eligible for assistance from the region: Pays Rochois, Cluses, Arve et Montagnes, Vallée de Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Faucigny-Glières, Pays Mont-Blanc.
Please note that only SMEs and VSEs, independent retailers and professionals, local authorities, public institutions, companies and associations are eligible for assistance.
The amount of assistance depends on the vehicle purchased and its GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating).
- Dans le cas d’un PTAC<2.5 T, l’aide de la région pour l’achat d’un véhicule électrique s’éléve à 3 000 €.
- In the case of a 2.5t, the regional aid for the purchase of an electric vehicle is €5,000.

Please note that this assistance comes with obligations. The beneficiary, whatever his or her status, undertakes to :
- affix a sticker issued by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region to vehicles benefiting from regional aid
- mention the aid received & if the vehicle is resold within 4 years, return the aid received.

Good to know: for the acquisition of five vehicles or less, and by derogation from the budgetary and financial regulations of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region voted on 22/09/2016 (deliberation n°856), the grant application may be made after the purchase of the vehicle(s).
