What is the ADVENIR program?
The ADVENIR program supports initiatives to decarbonize mobility, using the CEE (Certificat d'Economie d'Energie) mechanism and ongoing public subsidies to support electromobility.
In other words, ADVENIR uses incentives to finance the deployment of recharging infrastructures. It is one of the main schemes for financing electric vehicle charging infrastructures in France.
The French Ministry of Ecological Transition had set itself the ambitious target of reaching 100,000 charging stations installed by October 2020, and subsidies for the installation of charging stations had been increased accordingly. The operation was supposed to be valid for all charging stations open to the public installed between November 2, 2020 and October 31, 2021. Now, with the extension of this aid, ADVENIR aims to install almost 65,000 new charging points. To achieve this, an additional budget of 20 million euros has been earmarked for the project.
The ADVENIR bonus: more selective subsidies in 2023
Since the start of 2023, the ADVENIR program has included a number of changes to its incentives to help French people make the switch to electric mobility.
End of bonus for private company parking lots
In order to continue accelerating the deployment of charging points open to the public in private parking lots and for the intermediate target, the ADVENIR program has decided to reduce the rate of aid .
A first change was made on August 1, 2022, reducing the rate of assistance from 40% to 30%, and a second change on February 1, 2023 with new premium ceilings.

While this subsidy remains valid, the ADVENIR program announced on April 13, 2023, the end of subsidies for public charging points and for the intermediate target group. the end of subsidies for public charging points and for the intermediate target.. In addition, the calculation is made on the basis of the quotation excluding VAT and must be deducted from the amount including VAT. The sums paid are not subject to VAT.
As with theeco-bonus, subsidies are set to decrease from year to year. In 2023, installation bonuses will also drop, and will be communicated according to the progress of deployments open to the public.
A new assistance plan for automotive service professionals
While the ADVENIR program has been extended until 2025the program has set up an assistance plan, opening the way to help with the installation of recharging points, for automotive service professionals, in partnership with Mobilians.
This plan, which opens up 2 new incentives, has set a target of installing 8,000 recharging points. This target is divided into 2 parts:
- 4,000 recharging points for fleets and employees of automotive service professionals.
- 4,000 recharging points will be open to the general public for automotive service professionals.

High-power charging stations and hubs no longer rewarded
The decision was taken by the ADVENIR program steering committee on April 15, 2022: as of April 30, 2022, the Station and High-Power Charging Hub bonus will be suspended.
But all is not lost! Those wishing to install high-power recharging stations and hubs can apply for assistance fromAdeme and its support for the deployment of electric car recharging stations.
Good to know: all three types of subsidy will be reduced in 2023. This information is currently awaiting confirmation.
What is support for the deployment of electric car charging stations?
Support for the deployment of charging stations for electric vehicles is aimed at private operators and local authorities with the capacity to install a network of charging stations. The aim of this call for projects is to boost the deployment of high-power charging station networks throughout France.
For your project to be considered, you'll need to install at least 4 charging points per station, including 2 with a maximum output of at least 150 kW.
Ademe is hoping to collect network projects from private operators, with a minimum of 100 charging points. As for projects supported by local authorities, the organization expects to generate 50 charging points.
The scheme is national in scope, and any legal entity resident in France may be selected. This call for projects will close on December 31, 2024. To find out more, visit theAdeme website.
