French-style electric company cars

After almost two centuries, our French brands are constantly reinventing themselves to bring you a car that lives up to your expectations.
Peugeot e-208
The Peugeot e-208 is one of the world's favorite electric city cars, and will surely remain so into 2023. Highly appreciated for its sporty character, it offers comfort and power to its driver.
In terms of its general characteristics, it has everything to live up to expectations. It has a 50 kWh battery and a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor. As for its range, it approaches 340 km (according to WLTP), although you should be aware that this varies according to the distance to be covered between home and work, as well as the weather. Autonomy will be lower in winter.
It can be estimated that with this range, the car will only need to be recharged 2 to 3 times a week on average.
Speaking of recharging, this electric car can be recharged at an AC recharging point with a maximum output of 7.4 kW (recharging time 7 h 15). On a DC charging station with a maximum output of 101 kW (recharging time 26 minutes). The Peugeot e-208 is available at a list price of €33,000, excluding the €4,000 ecological bonus for professionals.
Renault Zoe e-Tech
The Renault Zoe e-Tech is France's benchmark electric car, released in 2012, yet it still tops the French market with 23,500 cars sold by 2021. There's a reason for this: it's suitable for everyone. Equipped with a 52 kWh battery and 109 hp (80 kW) of engine power, it will accompany your employees to work lightly and comfortably on all their daily journeys. The range of the Renault Zoe e-Tech electric car is 395 km, a good range for an electric city car that won't consume a lot of energy if your journeys are mainly around town.
In terms of electric recharging, plugging into an accelerated recharging point takes 5 hours and 45 minutes for a full charge. At a fast-charging station, it will take around 50 minutes to recharge from 10% to 80%.
The standard Renault Zoe e-Tech model is priced at €33,700, excluding the €4,000 environmental bonus.
Is the sedan as an electric company car a good choice?
Lower and longer than a city car, the electric sedan is still a very versatile vehicle. It is, however, better suited to longer journeys. It also offers its driver comfort, good roadholding and easy parking, even in city centers.
Nissan Leaf 2023
Nissan has captured the hearts of electric car drivers with its various Nissan Leaf models. This year, Nissan has announced the arrival of the 100% electric Nissan Leaf 2023, a model revisited with a new exterior design and technological additions. There are two models to choose from, one with a 40 kWh battery and a range of 240 km, and another with a 60 kWh battery and a range of 342 km. Both models offer 147 hp and 214 hp.
Speaking of recharging, for the model with a 40 kWh battery, the electric car has a recharging time of 40 minutes on fast charge (10% to 80% DC) and eight hours on AC.
A little extra for this car: it's connected! From an app on your phone, you can make settings such as warming up the car from your phone for those wintry mornings.
Pricing for this model has not yet been announced.
MG4
MG Motor wants to bring high-end electric cars to the market, but at affordable prices. A statement that is quite successful when you look at the prices and features of the various models offered by this manufacturer.
The MG4 includes three models:
- Standard, with a 51 kWh battery and a motor rated at up to 170 hp. This model offers a maximum range of 350 km.
- Comfort, with a 64 kWh battery and a motor with a maximum output of 204 hp. This model is expected to have a range of 450 km.
- Luxury, like the Comfort model, boasts a 64 kWh battery and 204 horsepower. Finally, this model boasts a range of 435 km.
As for recharging this electric sedan, if you have installed an 11 kW AC recharging point, the charging time will be 4 hours and 10 minutes. If your parking lot has a 22 kW charging point, the car will take 2 hours and 10 minutes to recharge. The fastest charging power for this car is at a 10 kW DC charging point, and takes 40 minutes.
Prices range from €28,990 for the Standard model, €32,990 for the Comfort model and €34,990 for the Luxury model. Prices well below those of competitors such as the Renault Megane e-Tech Standard model, which is more expensive than the MG4 Luxury.

An electric SUV for employee comfort
Have you ever thought of equipping your fleet with electric SUVs? These are slightly taller than average vehicles with a very spacious interior, giving electric company car users a feeling of comfort and security.
Tesla Model Y Propulsion
We can't talk about electric cars without mentioning Tesla Electric and the famous Model Y. This electric SUV, whose new Propulsion model is due to deliver its first cars in December 2022, will surely live up to all other Tesla models. The Tesla Model Y Propulsion features a 57.5 kWh usable battery with a motor performance of 255 kW (347 hp). The car also boasts an estimated range of 455 km, enough for many trips without recharging.
On an accelerated charging station, the car will take 6 hours and 15 minutes to recharge on 11 kW AC. Recharging can be completed in 25 minutes if the car is connected to direct current delivering a maximum power of 170 kW.

Honda e:Ny1
Japanese carmaker Honda is looking to expand more and more into the electric market. After the Honda e, a 100% electric city car, the brand has unveiled images of the Honda e:NY 1, also a 100% electric compact SUV. For the moment, these are just photos of the prototype, but if you're planning to rebuild your car fleet in September 2023, the SUV will surely be available to order or even in the hands of your employees.
Nothing is definitive yet, but we can expect a 68 kWh battery and a range that should approach 400 km.

Hyundai Ioniq 6
Hyundai electric has hit the market with a new sedan, the Hyundai Ioniq 6, with a range that many electric vehicle users have been waiting for! With an expected average range of 610 km, it can even reach 680 km if you don't drive on freeways or expressways. If you often use the freeway, the Ioniq 6 still promises 510 km of range.
Let's talk about its features. This electric sedan has two motors, a 135 hp front motor and a 250 hp rear motor, for a total output of 385 hp (283 kW). With this engine power and a 77 kWh battery, this powerful electric car will satisfy all those long-distance journeys you're likely to make, if you or your employees do a lot of travelling.

Tesla Model 3 Long Range
Back to Tesla electric, but this time with the Tesla Model 3 Long Range, one of the American automaker's sedans. At the moment, delivery times are estimated at a minimum of April 2023 to June 2023, enough to revive your electric company cars for spring.
On the technical side, the battery has a capacity of 82 kWh and an engine output of 366 kW (498 hp).
In addition to this power, it has a very good range. It is estimated that if you use it for journeys in and around town, the range will extend to an average of 600 km, and can even reach 700 km if it is used only for urban journeys. With this, you'll be able to recharge once a week.
As for recharging, a good 8-hour working day is more than enough for a full charge at an 11 kW AC terminal. If connected to a 250 kW DC terminal, it will take just 27 minutes to recharge to 80%.
